Blowing and Drifting

Snow blows.

Literally.

And figuratively.

Proof:

The other day, Buttercup said, "On the blog you make our life so much funnier and interesting than it really is.  You take the little funny bits and make them seem like they are so much bigger."

So, apparently, I blow (smoke), too.

To end, photos that make me smile.  No exaggeration required.

Because I don't.

Exaggerate, that is.

Despite what Buttercup says.

Just sayin'.

I think the snow is getting to me.

I'll stop now.

Probably.

Yup, I'm done.

Have a lovely day!

  1. I agree...snow blows, and you blow smoke. Takes one to know one. :) Thanks for sharing!

  2. Is there some kind of manual for daughters of bloggers? Because mine has said the same thing as Buttercup. My daughter has apparently memorized the chapter devoted to hounding your mom to write an entire post just about her.

    1. I'm thinking it's just daughters in general. And tell your daughter that if she's nice, she MAY get a mention on her birthday. And wait, I thought you did write about her.

    2. Dyanne,
I did just that 2 different times, now I am forbidden to write about that daughter with out her "editing" the post. She begged and begged. In the end it was not what she wanted. Of course it was about shoe shopping and a boy who liked her... maybe it was the topic not the subject.

  3. The snow looks gorgeous!!!! Your kids might not think their life is so funny because it's happening to them right now, but one day they will look back and think they had a pretty darn fantastic life and a Mom willing to document it all in a blog.

    1. It is pretty, if I don't have to shovel it or scrape it off my car. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the encouragement.

  4. We had that snow here last week and are finally starting to creep out from under it all :) It really IS beautiful! Be sure to let Buttercup know that making the good times "big" is what life is all about! We can all get caught up in just seeing the mundane of life, but when you take time to pick out the goodies and celebrate them, you're teaching them how to focus on the positive and see how good life really is. Good job mama ;)

    1. I agree that snow can be so lovely, but we've had enough. Too much of a good thing and all.

Exactly! Thank you for pointing that out.

  5. I say the same thing about my mom- there is excessive exaggeration up the wazoo in every story. If there is snow, there is "massive amounts." If there is a lot of food on the table, there is "massive quantities." I think we even heard a story involving "massive amounts" of dog poop. Seriously. My sisters and I use that phrase waaaaay to much now just to drive my mom nuts.
But....knowing you in real life, and knowing some of these stories, they are NOT exaggerations. Just attesting that to your readers (and Buttercup;) Tell her to meet my mom and then compare;)

    1. Hahahaha! I was getting a little nervous there for a minute, thinking I was going to be likened to your mom. :)

Thank you for backing me up.

  6. Ew, snow! Yuk *shudder* Well done you for standing it at all! And to respond to Buttercup's comment - I think blogging is like the journalling version of a dinner plate where you get to only eat the bits you like.

    1. Yeah, I'm ready for the snow to end.

Very good analogy. I'll make sure I mention it at dinner tonight when a few of the kids poo-poo the soup.

    1. I kept forcing myself to look at the trees, all draped with snow, to remind myself how pretty it reallyi is.
A sunburnt nose still sounds heavenly, though.

  8. I choose to believe you're not exaggerating. As far as I'm concerned, your whole life is made up of one familial shenanigan after another!
