Did You Know?

Because Dyanne will be so sad and worried that I don't like her if I don't...

Four names people call me other than my real name:

Mom: at least 18 hundred thousand times each and every day, mostly thanks to Cuckoo
(Aunt) Crissy: Until I moved out and got married, I went by Crissy. Relatives still use that moniker.
Tiner: (pronounced Teener, as in Chris-teener) Bryan, and now the kids when they are trying to be funny
Maureen: A woman at church cannot for the life of her keep me and the real Maureen straight.

Four jobs I've had:

Waitress at Frisch's Big Boy
Cake decorator at Kroger (grocery store)
Auditor for True-Green Chemlawn (That sounds way more important than it was.)
5th grade teacher

Four movies I would/have watched more than once

Shawshank Redemption
The Jerk
National Lampoons (pick one) Vacation
Sound of Music

Four books I would recommend:

(These are the last four books I have read and liked. If you want recommendations of my favorite books, I wrote about them back in February. Go here.)

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
The Girl on the Mountain by Carol Ervin
Order of Seven by Beth Teliho

Four places I have lived:

Canton, Ohio
Little Rock, Arkansas
Bermuda
Bloomington, Indiana

Four places I have been:

In no particular order or preference, because only picking four is hard enough.

Acadia National Park, Maine
New Orleans, Louisiana
Hilton Head, South Carolina
London, England

Four places I would rather be right now:

Only because I've never been there

Grand Canyon
Alaska
Hawaii
Australia

Four things I don't eat:

peas
sweet potatoes
sushi
oysters

Four of my favorite foods:

This is next to impossible. I love food. Almost any food (Did you read the answers just above this?)

No joke. I can't come up with anything. I think, "Oh, chocolate, but I like cheesecake and snickerdoodles and Butterfingers, too!" I think, "ham and bean soup! but I really like potato soup and tortilla soup and tomato soup, too." Seriously, I can't narrow it down at all.

Four television shows I watch:

(When I get the chance)

The Middle
The Goldbergs
19 Kids and Counting
Castle

Four things I'm looking forward to this year:

Phoenix getting his driver's license
Lizzi coming to visit
Our annual vacation with our friends
Catholic blogging conference next week!

Four things I'm always saying:

Brush your teeth!
Where is...?
Have fun!
Love you.

Now, I'm supposed to tag four people who might want to join in the fun. I have no idea if these people will want to join in, but I want you to meet them. They are newer friends of mine, and I'm still in the getting to know them phase.

Theresa, at Ordinary Lovely

Stacey at Stacey's Mothering Moments

Rita at Open Window at the Catholic Review

Glen at Glen's Life (voted least likely to do this, seeing as how he only writes once or twice a month if we're lucky)

If you weren't named and would like to do this, by all means, give it a go. I'll enjoy reading what you have to say. I'd really like to see if you can come up with four favorite foods.

So, were you surprised by any of my answers?

Have a lovely day!

    1. That's always the hardest part, that tagging other people. I would like you to tag bloggers I don't know. :)

  2. I love these. No matter how much you think you know about the writer, you learn a new thing or two.

  3. Funny stuff! Isn't Hilton Head great? Before my son left for college last year we took our last vacation as a family to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. It was really cool. You would enjoy it!

    1. Hilton Head is marvelous. I've been a few times, thanks to the fact we have relatives who live there.
We'll make it to the canyon someday...

  5. This is FUN! And I'm always surprised you don't like peas. You come across as such a sensible person (giggly WhatsApps aside) until I remember you cannot stand peas...and that gives me pause.

I LOVE BEING ON YOUR LIST *gleeeeeeeeeee*

I could MAYBE think of four foods. Not sure.

    1. Seriously, I don't see what there is to like about peas. Nothing at all except the nutrition, and there's plenty of more palatable places to get those vitamins and minerals. :)

      Yippee!!

  6. How fun. I love these kinds of posts.

I would highly recommend visiting Hawaii and the Grand Canyon. Been to both and would go again.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

    1. I like them, too. All of those little details are interesting, and sometimes, they are quite surprising or funny.

They are on the list of places to visit. Someday...

  7. Like Lizzi, I forget that you don't like peas. (How can you not like peas?!) I didn't particularly like sweet potatoes when I was a child; maybe you will learn to love them when you grow up. ;-) I think I've had oysters before, but I don't really have an opinion about them. I love sushi!

Of the four places you mentioned you've visited, the only one I've also been to is London. I haven't even been in those other states! I have been to the Grand Canyon and Hawaii, though.

    1. Better question: How CAN you like peas? :)

I have one picky parent and one parent who didn't really know how to cook. Sweet potatoes were never on our kitchen table. I tasted them as an adult when I made them for the kids. Yuck! I've tried them different ways, but I just can't choke them down.

Funny how it's more likely to go to another country than the other side of our own. :)

  8. This was fun to read and then it was doubly fun to see me tagged at the end! I'll try to get to it this week!
I really don't care for peas either, but sweet potatoes?? Maybe you're just fixing them wrong?? ;)

    1. Yay! I always enjoy reading other posts like this, so I figure other people like to read when I do. Looking forward to yours!

FINALLY!! Someone who will back me up on the peas! I'm getting slammed here by pea-lovers. :) I've tried sweet potatoes many ways, made by other people even. I just can't choke them down. (Nice try, though.) :)

  9. I don't feel rejected now!
I love The Sound Of Music. I remember seeing it in the theater (barely). I was really scared when they were hiding from the Nazis. And the theater had stars on the ceiling that lightly twinkled.
I had a hard time limiting my "don't like" food list and put down the first four that came into my head, but I agree with all of yours, except for peas. I like peas. I really like creamed peas. Did that make you gag a little. Oh, and I'll eat sweet potatoes, but only if they are roasted with white potatoes and onions and garlic and not treated like a dessert.
You're going to love having that driver in the house.

    1. That's all I was going for. ;)

We had a theater like that where I grew up. Loved it. Actually, our high school used it for graduations, and I saw my friend perform in The Nutcracker there.

      Ugh! Creamed peas?!?!

      Yes. Yes I am.

  10. What a fun read! I like these kinds of "get to know" you posts.
You learn so much about a person in such a short time:)

  12. Love this, Christine! Or can I call you Tiner? How about Maureen? Kidding. I love learning new things about people and this was just perfect. I could watch Shawshank Redemption over and over as well, and have. The Invention of Wings is on my list to read, too, but it's a fairly long list. I'm hoping to get to it soon.
