Have I mentioned that the rain just will not stop? Every day. Pouring rain. As a matter of fact, it's raining as I type this post.
While scrolling through my photos, looking for some sort of theme for June's Photo Blogging Challenge, I realized that with the rain, we were given some cool-looking skies.
Sunrise in the fog, June 7th.
Impending storm, June 12th
We had approximately 2 hours of blue sky this month, June19
One of the coolest weather-related sights we've ever seen. During a thunderstorm, with lightening and pouring rain, the setting sun burned through. There were no rays of sunshine. Just a big, red ball of sun. June 30th, about 60 minutes ago.
And because I don't have another sky photo from this month, and it was so mesmerizing, I'm just going to stick in another photo of the same sun.
Tomorrow is July already?!?! It makes me want to cry.
P.J. will be posting next month's theme tomorrow, July 1, if you want to join in.
Have a lovely day!
You got some good shots for this month's theme! That sun is pretty wild. A big ball of red... holy heck! Look out!
ReplyDeleteOh, and it's a good think you captures part of the lone two hours of blue skies you had this month! :D
You found a theme! :-) That sun looks like what the sun looks like in a wildfire.
ReplyDeleteI think we must be having what you should be having. We are currently in a heatwave and it's getting hotter by the minute - even as early as 8am it's far too warm to work. I'm hoping it lasts for a while though as I'm off camping again at the weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWell my local area is now having some of what you've been getting. It's been so hot today that it's been building up to a thunderstorm which we've now got, including the torrential rain, though it probably won't last long. At least it'll clear the air and cool things down a bit.
DeleteThat sun! I've never seen anything like it! Really love that sunrise one too with the silhouette of the stop sign.
ReplyDeleteWow, sure hope you see some blue skies soon. Love the pics!
ReplyDeleteI dont think I will cry about it but I cant believe its July. That last photo was pretty cool huh? We have had hardly any sun this week. Its storming now as a matter of fact and has been all night... It was a rainy month ... but July is here so maybe that will change and you can shed tears of joy!
ReplyDeleteWe'll take some of your rain and I'd be glad to give you all this sunshine we've had. Gladly. We are in a severe drought here in Central California.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of your sky.
Have a fabulous day. ☺
We've had bucket of rain here too so I feel your frustration. Yesterday, I noticed the sun looking a little like the one you captured....just a red ball in a cloudy sky. Even though I'm sure it came with lots of water, I really love the storm cloud shot.

ReplyDeleteI wish I could tell you why my phone keeps duplicating comments.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics. The red sun is amazing.
When you get a blue sky, it's REALLY blue! Love the pics!
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me how often I look to the sky each day, especially if I'm going to be walking to the library, the grocery store or the train station. Haven't seen a red sun like that since last summer when there were forest fires all around. It makes me think of the Eye of Sauron in Lord of the Rings! Hoping July brings better weather your way.
ReplyDeleteThat vibrant sky blue! Love it.
ReplyDeleteOnly 2 hours of blue sky? Ah, but what a blue sky it was. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteLove the sky-shots you took this month. Your pictures are truly beautiful! :)
